St. Joseph Health Ultrasound Technologist in Lubbock, Texas

Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Diagnostic Supervisor and the general supervision of the Director of Imaging Services, perform ultrasound procedures to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of illness and disease.Essential Functions:1.Performs ultrasound procedures as prescribed by a physician by determining the proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.2.Transfers and positions accurately for the proper view of the affected area.3.Selects and operates fixed and portable ultrasound equipment.4.Prepares room, equipment and supplies as required for each procedure.5.Instructs patients as to the proper physiological requirements necessary to complete the procedure.6.Develops film using proper technique.7.Abides by the established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality management, general and radiation safety, environmental and infectious control standards.8.Maintains accurate records of procedures as required and performs necessary clerical duties.9.Maintains supplies as necessary.10.Ensures a clean working environment.11.Maintains equipment by performing quality control testing and documenting results.Minimum Position Qualifications:Education: High School DiplomaTraining:Course study in diagnostic ultrasound or equivalent experienceLicense / Certification:Certified by the R.D.M.S. within 90 days of being hired into the position, CPR Certification within thirty (30) days of employment Preferred Position Qualifications: One year experience, as an Ultrasonographer preferred
