The Central Supply and Pharmacy Technician is responsible for evaluating the need, order, and maintenance of adequate care supplies. In close coordination with the MDS staff and admission coordinator, the position also evaluates the anticipated medication needs of potential admissions and existing residents (including cost analysis). Qualifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) issued by the Pharmacy Technician Board and Pharmacy Technician Registration issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Delegation of authority Authority is delegated to the individual in this position to: Evaluate the facility resident care supply needs. Evaluate anticipated medication needs of potential admissions and existing residents. Develop an efficient system to order adequate resident care supplies. Order adequate resident care supplies. Maintain adequate resident care supplies. Maintain an efficient system for storing resident care supplies for prompt retrieval. Develop and maintain an efficient, accurate system to identify charges for resident care supplies. Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Responsibilities: Recognize your role as part of the QAPI efforts of your organization. Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work. Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned. Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts. Look for and share with leadership ideas for improvement in the organization. Communicate to leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or detecting barriers preventing project success. Support QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings. Compliance Responsibilities: Observe all facility policies and procedures. Observe infection control procedures. Observe facility Residents Rights policies and procedures. Observe facility safety policies and procedures. Agree not to disclose assigned user I.D. codes and passwords for accessing resident/facility information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator. Agree not to disclose resident s protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator. Report any known or suspected unauthorized attempt to access facility s information system. Report suspected or known incidence of fraud relative to false billings, cost reports, kickbacks, etc. Ensure that computer workstations are properly logged off when left unattended. Immediately report all suspected or alleged abuse, neglect exploitation and/or misappropriation to the Administrator and/or designee. Job duties include but are not limited to: 1. Ability to exhibit effective communication at all times. 2. Possess team work at all times. Assist with any job when asked with positive attitude and attention to detail. 3. Be responsible for collecting data on the amount of supplies needed from each resident care area. 4. Maintain supplies in a neat, clean and organized manner. 5. Receive, review and have requisitions approved before ordering. 6. Keep accurate, organized records of the type and amount of supplies received. 7. Reconcile invoice pricing against contract pricing. 8. Send invoices to business office promptly for payment. 9. Review admission referrals and calculate medication costs 10. Do floor checks on each unit to assure adequate inventory. 11. Do dating checks on medication and supplies. 12. Complete a cost analysis on all admission referrals, in close coordination with MDS nurse and admissions coordinator. 13. Assist in review and reconciliation of pharmacy bills (assuring contract compliance). 14. Maintain accurate, organized, and timely records. Notify administration of any issues in a
