Position Description Employees in this classification provide support in an assigned research laboratory conducting specified phases of research projects. Performs work independently and is responsible for developing new procedures and techniques to be utilized in the laboratory and in experiments, and new applications for standard procedures and techniques. Work is performed under usual laboratory conditions. Some hazards may be present due to use of radioactive, carcinogenic or other potientially harmful substances. Responsibilities also include ensuring overall cleanliness of the laboratory and laboratory equipment, and ordering and maintaining an adequate stock of necessary supplies. May instruct or direct work of subordinate laboratory personnel.
Major/Essential Functions 1. Provide courier service for samples and other materials to and from local (campus) clinics - up to 1/4 mile round trip multiple times per day.
Assist with clinical laboratory testing under direct supervision of certified lab testing personnel.
Assist with monitoring lab and lab equipment temperatures and other values to meet federal requirements.
Log in samples and data entry of patient results.
Assist lab faculty and students with research projects.
After appropriate training, work on -call weekends - approximately with available supervision.
Assist with other record-keeping as directed by Lab Director.
Contribute to KPIs
as appropriate for job functions (Patient Satisfaction, Clinical Transformation, Business Development, Financial Performance and Employee Satisfaction).

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in one of the sciences, or equivalent combination (4 years) of job-related experience and college education. Experience may be substituted for college education on a year for year basis.
