Job Description:

  • Performs limited collection procedures ensuring proper identification of patient and proper venipuncture procedure.

  • Performs urinalysis testing under the supervision of the section supervisor.

  • Performs processing of specimens and blood products including blood release in Hematology, Chemistry, and Blood Bank under the supervision of the section supervisor.

  • Assists in the setup of Microbiology cultures and performs limited testing in Microbiology under The supervision of the section supervisor.

  • Researches new reference laboratory tests for specimen requirements, turnaround times and charges.

  • Editing of laboratory requisitions for correct billing and reporting information.

  • Relay test results and billing information accurately.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to understand and communicate in English orally and in writing.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

  • Laboratory experience

  • Phlebotomy experience

  • Medical Terminology

Shift:

On call

Differentials are offered for Evenings, Nights, and Weekends & Holidays
