· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience specific to operations

· Training program graduate a plus

· 2+ years hands on business experience

· Electrical product knowledge (distribution equipment, lighting, devices, motors, controls, etc.)

Candidate must be able to effectively utilize business systems to identify and drive change in areas needing improvement within field operations and customer service. Collaborate with operations, sales and functional mangers to implement reports, communication and system actions to improve customer service and to achieve defined business objectives.

We are seeking an Operations Specialist at our Lubbock, TX location:

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

· The development and measurement of routing optimization and Standard Operating Procedures which allows the company to efficiently and safely deliver on the company promise to the customer in the most cost effective manner.

· Promote a culture of safety in all locations through communication and safety walks.

· DOT management and control for responsible branch locations.

· Become an expert on necessary ERP and reporting software systems (Eclipse, Oracle, Business Objects, etc.)

· Fluent with Microsoft Office & business systems required for creating reporting and database tools and link available system data.

· Use existing and newly created reports to analyze specified areas of opportunity in operations, sales and inventory performance. Collaborate with Region and Area Managers using the resulting information to achieve customer service and business objective.

· Promote an environment of continuous improvement such that operational costs are minimized while operational effectiveness is maximized.

· Create training plans and communications to help managers make the best and most efficient use of available tools.

· Create standard reports or dashboards to measure trends and progress made on operations initiatives and actions.

· Own projects aimed at improving profitability and efficiency in defined geographic and functional areas.

· Understand the customer service and business needs of the electrical distribution industry to recommend and implement operational improvements.

· Previous AP background to understand nuances of matching/entry would be extremely helpful.

· Basic understanding of the SPA/SPJ supplier rebate process.

· Assist branches in resolving unapproved invoices. This could include reviewing initial lists over 30 days sent by AP for items that Specialist can resolve. Follow up with branch/purchasing on receiving/cost variance issues.

· Overview of ERP hold queues for Regional metrics, assist branches with difficult issues or those that require liaison with AP.

· Liaison with SPA/Pricing Team to resolve pricing issues and ensure that SPA agreements are entered for applicable orders.

· Act as liaison between JJ Keller and drivers to ensure DOT files are maintained and in compliance.

· Improve OPEX percentage to sales by managing cost and indirect spend.

· Drive operational efficiencies throughout the area and company by sharing best practices.

· Identify and execute solutions to reduce inbound and outbound transportation.

· Work closely with Sourcing to execute on obsolescence and excess improvement.

· Lead environmental, health and safety compliance and training.

· Be the gatekeeper for all compliance related items (P Card, T&L, Export) and enforce adherence to all SOP’s

· Utilize supply chain management tools (Lean, WMS, Velocity Slotting) to continuously improve warehouse operations and customer service.

· Motivate lead and train BM’s and AOS’ and team to “manage the gap” on top line & GP to OPEX V%.

· Manage Facilities – leases, CAPEX, disaster recovery, maintenance.

· Analyze profitability by branch, customer and supplier and impact to GP. Work to understand and drive process improvement on DRS, POV and other vendor statement expense.

· Able to regularly lift 50 pounds.

· Control cycle counting and/or physical inventory and process.

· Manage fixed and leased assets.
