Position Description Serve student athletes in a collaborative effort to enhance their personal, academic and athletic success through clinical services, educational programming and regular consultation with Sports Medicine Staff, team physicians and other support and administrative staff in the Athletics Department.
Work in a collaborative and integrative manner to manage and provide specialized counseling and sports psychology services for student-athletes.
Develop and deliver structured programs and psychoeducational group presentations.
Coordinate drug and alcohol assessment and counseling for the Athletic Department in accordance with departmental policy.
Work in a collaborative effort with a multidisciplinary team for disordered eating assessment and counseling.
Develop, maintain, and administer Optimal Performance Evaluations for all incoming student-athletes.
Generate reports related to volume, offerings and needs as well as track and report individual team utilization of services.
Supervise and participate in the training of graduate students.
Perform additional professional services as individual skills and interests and department needs indicate.
Demonstrate sensitivity and competency in working with the full range of diverse groups.
Required Qualifications Doctorate in counseling, clinical, or school psychology from an APA-accredited program. Licensed or license eligible Psychologist in the State of Texas. Demonstrated experience and appropriate training/certification working with student-athlete populations in sport psychology, disordered eating, substance abuse, LD and ADHD. Knowledge of compliance with NCAA, University and Athletic Department Rules, regulations, and policies, state and federal policies and laws.
Earned doctorate in counseling, clinical, or school psychology from an APA-accredited program
Licensed as a Psychologist in the state of Texas or Provisionally Licensed as a Psychologist in the state of Texas by position start date
Demonstrated experience and appropriate training/certification working with student-athlete populations in sport psychology, disordered eating, substance abuse, LD and ADHD
Knowledge of compliance with NCAA, University and Athletic Department Rules, regulations, and policies, state and federal policies and laws
