Position Description Performs supervisory and coordinative work in the operation of a specific program or departmental project. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Event planning/organizing for college events (primarily donor/alumni events)

  • Works with the Director of Marketing on various communication pieces; provides editing, proofreading and writing as needed

  • Facilitates correct endowment procedures and assists with gift agreement preparation as needed

  • Maintains/updates donor/alumni information as necessary

  • Facilitates/coordinates scholarship process across the college (liaison between alumni/donors and faculty/staff)

  • Monitors endowment usage and communicates cautionary balances to appropriate individuals

  • Serves as coordinator for the Young Guns young alumni group

  • Communicates (verbal & written) with alumni/donors, faculty/staff to convey pertinent information in a timely and concise manner

  • Scheduling and calendar management as needed

  • Travel preparation as needed

  • Purchasing/processing payment for events, etc

Required Qualifications High school graduation plus five (5) years progressively responsible related experience; additional related education may exchange for required experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications Strong organizational skills, ability to work in a collaborative team environment, and the ability to meet deadlines and follow strict guidelines and procedures. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with internal and external multi-level personnel. Ability to make sounds decisions and work effectively with others, experience in problem solving, high ethical standards and ability to remain confidential, dependable, ability to work well under pressure with little direction while maintaining professional composure.

Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office products, Texas Tech Advance Computer software, TechBuy, Cognos and other TTU software.

Minimum Hire Rate 12.42

Pay Statement Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.
