Position Description Provides project management for major construction and renovation projects including budgeting, planning and programming, design, contracting, construction, commissioning, and close-out.

Major/Essential Functions - Drive the project within the TTUS from inception to completion, within the project scope, budget and with the high standard of quality that is consistent within the TTUS.

  • Work with the Sr. Director of Project Administration and Sr. Project Manager, if any, to develop a realistic budget and schedule given a very limited scope of work. Use resources to justify the data used in both the budget and the schedule.

  • Working with users, Sr. Project Managers, design team and contractors, work to be the team leader relating to the estabishment of program scope and technical requirements, quality control procedures and production efforts.

  • Work with the FP&C administrators and the Sr. Project Managers to develop all constructing documents to hire all partners required to complete the work.

  • Minimize scope changes by working with the users and the team in developing the initial scope and program for the project.

  • Provide executives with summary information as requested.

  • Focus on deliverables including quality of plans and specifications, submittals, and material selection.

  • Lead effective communication, cooperation, and trust to achieve project management maturity.

-Share recognition for project success with the entire project team and management.

  • Focus on identifying and solving problems early, quickly and cost effectively.

  • Measure and compare project completion with baseline and monthly CPM schedules.

  • Use project management software as a tool and not as a substitute for effective planning.

  • Be an excellent time manager.

  • Strive for continual education and improvements using self-help books and methods as well as by attending classes and webinars as allowed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, or Interior Design or related field plus three years experience in large project management. An advanced degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.

Minimum Hire Rate 4185.67

Pay Statement Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.
