Texas Tech University Assistant/Associate Professor in Lubbock, Texas
Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.
The candidate will be expected to teach all courses levels and chair thesis and dissertation projects while providing service to the department, the college, and the University as appropriate. Applicants must have a demonstrated ability to establish a focused research program as new faculty are expected to be engaged in scholarship or creative activity that attracts significant external funding in the form of fellowships, grants, exhibits, etc.
Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to the candidate’s intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activity.
All applicants should have earned a terminal degree (Ph.D., MFA), by appointment time, in Interior Design or related field. Ph.D. preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in design theory including two-dimensional and three-dimensional visualization (both manual and digital), lighting design, and CAD graphics. NCIDQ eligible or NCIDQ certification preferred.
