Position Description Performs managerial work providing direction and guidance in setting and achieving goals and objectives; developing policies; reviewing guidelines, procedures, rules, and regulations; establishing priorities, standards, and measurement tools for determining progress in meeting goals; coordinating and evaluating program activities; and establishing and monitoring budgets. May plan, assign, and supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Major/Essential Functions Supervise daily activities of the Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program.

  • Input and analyze data (attendance, grades, etc.) for departmental and non-departmental use in order to evaluate program effectiveness.

  • Identify university courses that would benefit from the program and effectively assign instructors (student staff) for them every semester.

  • Represent the program and department at community and campus events/meetings.

  • Recruit, hire, train,manage and terminate full-time (unit coordinator) and part-time (student staff) employees.

  • Develop and execute training curricula to new student staff.

  • Program budget control and prepare reports as necessary (for Associate Director and Director).

  • Create marketing campaigns to promote the SI program to faculty and students.

  • Cooperate and collaborate with wide variety of students and colleagues as well as working successfully independently required.

Occasional Duties

  • Attend training programs and services available.

  • Maintain updated technology and resources for SI Staff and evaluate additional software products for program.

  • Other duties as assigned by Director.

  • Supervises employees (75%) 1) Unit Coordinator 2) SI Leaders

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in area of expertise or closely related area required. Three years of experience in planning, developing, or implementing programs/projects or research grants. Additional education may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree, previous experience working with SI, experience working with curriculum, and experience working with college student population.

Pay Basis Hourly

Minimum Hire Rate 18.24

Pay Statement Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.
